The QLD Government has launched Round 4 of the Small Business Grants Program. Registrations of interest open in November 2022, with the full application process opening in December.
The grant is designed to assist small Queensland-based businesses to increase core skills and adopt best practice and is administered by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT).
Eligible grant activities
A single, upfront payment of $5,000 (excl GST) is available for those businesses that meet the eligibility criteria.
The grant is supporting the below activities:

Training and coaching
Such as business development, marketing and human resources up to 4 months duration.

Website build or upgrades
New website builds, upgrades or refresh, the addition of e-commerce platforms and website copywriting.

Professional business advice
Such as business plans

Strategic marketing services
Such as strategic marketing plans and SEO advice

Business continuity and succession
Business continuity and succession planning and cyber safety training and tools.
Eligibility criteria
- The activities must exceed $5,000
- The activities must not be paid for prior to the approval of the grant
- You must not have been approved for funding under Round 1, 2 or 3 of the Business Basics grants program
- Have fewer than 20 employees at the time of applying for the grant
- Have an active ABN
- Be registered for GST
- Have headquarters in Queensland
- Have a turnover of $300,000 or less in the last financial year (2021–22)
- Do not have owners/directors that are insolvent or bankrupt

- Register your interest: 24th November, 2022 – Closes 5th December, 2022
- Full applications open: 12th December, 2022 – Closes 23rd January, 2023
