NSW Small Business to Benefit From New Rebate

The NSW Government has announced an additional $1,500 rebate available to eligible NSW businesses and not-for-profits to offset local Government fees and charges.

The rebate is aimed to assist small NSW businesses in reducing the costs to run a business throughout COVID. It aims to encourage business growth by reducing the costs required to run a business.

Each business can only apply once with certain eligibility requirements needing to be met.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have an ABN registered in NSW and/or premises in NSW
  • Australian wages must be below the NSW Government 2020-2021 payroll tax threshold ($1.2 million)
  • Be registered for Goods and Services Tax (GST)
  • Have a turnover of at least $75,000 per annum (declaration to be provided)

Service NSW has listed a complete list of applicable fees and charges that are acceptable to claim the rebate.

They include local government fees and charges, licenses, registrations and rates along with a range of other industry-specific fees.

What you need to apply

To apply online, you will need to have the following documents on hand.

  • A Service NSW account
  • Proof of identity
  • ABN/ACN
  • Business banking details
  • Accountant’s letter of proof of turnover
