The NSW State Government has now announced the March 2022 Storm & Flood Small Business Disaster Recovery Grant for small businesses or Not-For-Profits who have been directly impacted by the recent storm events.
A recovery grant of up to $50,000 is now available to help pay for the costs of clean up and help impacted businesses get back on their feet.
What businesses are eligible?
Eligible small businesses and NFP are those who are in the defined disaster area LGAs who have been directly impacted by the storms and floods.
Business must:
- Have suffered direct damage on business assets or equipment.
- Be primarily responsible for meeting the costs you are claiming
- Intend to re-establish the business in the same area
- Have held an ABN and were actively operational at the time of the floods
- If you are NFP, you must be registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC)
Sole traders can also apply if you can prove you derive the majority of your income from the business.
Applications
Applications are open until 30th June 2022 and applicants will need to supply valid quotes upon application. There are no direct payouts for this grant.
To apply, you will need:
- a MyServiceNSW Account
- proof of identity
- valid ABN/ACN number
- For NFPs, evidence of your non-profit status
- business banking details
For any amount you’re seeking up to $15,000, you’ll need:
- a list of the direct damage and costs
- photographic evidence of the direct damage
- quotes for replacements, works or services
- any other supporting information, such as damage assessments or receipts dated after the flood or storm event.
